# Sam Plants a Sunflower

## Story

**Page 1:** Sam Squirrel holds a tiny seed. "This will be a sunflower," he says.

**Page 2:** Sam digs a little hole. He tucks the seed inside, snug and safe.

**Page 3:** Sam waters the seed. "Grow, little seed, grow!" he says.

**Page 4:** The next day, nothing shows. Sam waits. He waters again.

**Page 5:** One morning, a green sprout peeks up! "Hello, little sprout!" says Sam.

**Page 6:** The sprout grows taller each sunny day. Sam waters it gently and sings a happy growing song to it.

**Page 7:** A big bud opens wide. It is yellow, like the sun!

**Page 8:** The sunflower is taller than Sam! Bees buzz around it happily.

**Page 9:** In fall, Sam gathers the seeds. He shares them with the birds.

**Page 10:** Sam saves one seed for spring. "Next year, we will grow again!"
