# Spring's First Worm

Author: Logan
Level: PreK3
Theme: Spring and waking up

## Story

Page 1: Wally the worm slept deep under the cold, dark winter soil.
Page 2: One day, he felt a warm drip, drip, drip from above.
Page 3: Wally wiggled up, up, up, until he peeked out of the ground.
Page 4: The garden was still asleep. No sprouts. No buzzing bees. The garden was quiet, and the whole garden was still fast asleep.
Page 5: "Hello?" called Wally, but only a sleepy robin answered.
Page 6: Wally did not go back to bed. He wiggled through the soil instead.
Page 7: His wiggling made tiny tunnels, soft and crumbly, for the roots.
Page 8: Soon, a green sprout pushed up where Wally had wiggled.
Page 9: Then another sprout, and another, until the garden was awake!
Page 10: "You woke the garden!" sang the robin. Wally blushed pink with pride.
