# Goat Crosses the Wiggly Bridge

## Story

**Page 1:** Gus Goat wants to reach the sweet grass on the other side of the stream. A little wooden bridge crosses the water.

**Page 2:** Gus steps onto the bridge. Wiggle, wobble, goes the bridge under his feet!

**Page 3:** Gus stops and takes a deep breath. "I can cross slowly," he says to himself.

**Page 4:** He takes one small step. Then he takes another small step.

**Page 5:** The bridge wiggles again. Gus holds still until the wiggling stops.

**Page 6:** A duck calls from the stream below. "You can do it, Gus!" she quacks.

**Page 7:** Gus smiles and walks a little faster. Step, step, step, across the wiggly bridge.

**Page 8:** He is almost at the end now. The sweet grass is just ahead.

**Page 9:** Gus steps off the bridge onto the soft grass. "I did it!" he cheers.

**Page 10:** Gus munches the sweet grass happily. Crossing slowly was the bravest way of all.
