## Story

**Page 1:** Ebble looked out of the window. One snowflake floated down.

**Page 2:** 'Look!' he whispered. 'The first snowflake of winter!'

**Page 3:** Ebble held out his mitten and watched as the snowflake landed softly, sparkling in the cold winter air.

**Page 4:** It sparkled for one second. Then it melted away.

**Page 5:** Ebble did not feel sad. He looked up at the sky.

**Page 6:** Snow covered the fence and the path, and it covered the garden gate in a soft and silent blanket.

**Page 7:** Snow covered the fence. Snow covered the path.

**Page 8:** Ebble put on his boots. Crunch, crunch went the snow.

**Page 9:** He made a snow angel in the fresh white snow, laughing and waving his arms wide like wings.

**Page 10:** Winter had come at last. Ebble danced in the soft white snow.
